Who We Are
Hello! We are Purses for a Purpose CT (or P4APCT), a charitable organization. We are donating gently used or new purses filled with travel-sized toiletry items to homeless shelters, women’s shelters, and domestic violence shelters in the New Haven area. Inspired by the incredible Purses for a Purpose San Diego founded by Shayna Rutman, we knew we had to bring this idea to the East Coast. With her help and guidance, we are developing a branch of her organization here in Connecticut. Our mission is to empower and assist the homeless women in our area and provide them with the essentials that may be hard to come by. We want to acknowledge and reaffirm their value within our society, while simultaneously raising awareness for the growing crisis of homelessness both here, and nationwide. We are so thankful for your interest and support, and urge you to reach out to us with any questions about our cause or how to make a donation.
